ICAN Shine Bike Camp

The DSAV iCan Shine Bike Camp empowers individuals with disabilities to gain confidence, independence, and lifelong cycling skills through one-on-one support from trained volunteer coaches.

ICAN Shine Bike Camp

ICAN Shine is a nationally recognized and highly successful camp that uses adaptive bicycles, a specialized instructional program and trained staff to enable individuals with a disability to learn to ride a conventional bike.

Participants attend one 75 minute session/day for 5 consecutive days.  The registration form lists the available session times.  The bike camp is open to all individuals with a disability that meet the camp requirements.

Rider Requirements to Participate:
  • Minimum age - 8 years by the Camp Start Date
  • Able to sidestep to both sides
  • Have a disability
  • Able to attend camp all 5 days
  • Able to walk without an assistive device
  • Willing and able to wear a properly fitted helmet
  • Maximum weight - 220 lbs.
  • The minimum inseam 20" (measure from the floor while the rider is wearing sneakers)
