Bridging Knowledge: Healthcare Professionals Outreach
  • At the Down Syndrome Association of the Valley, we understand the importance of providing accurate and up-to-date information about Down Syndrome to families and healthcare professionals alike. Our medical outreach program serves as a valuable resource for pediatricians, obstetricians, nurses, social workers, genetic counselors, midwives, and other healthcare providers seeking information.

Providing Comprehensive Support
  • The primary goal of our medical outreach program is to ensure that all parents and expectant parents with a possible or actual diagnosis of Down Syndrome receive accurate, well-balanced information with sensitivity and support. We recognize the overwhelming amount of information available online and aim to curate quality resources from trusted and credible sources to provide families upon receiving a Down Syndrome diagnosis.

Equipping Professionals and Families
  • In response to the need for reliable information, we've developed a set of resources tailored for families and the healthcare professionals caring for them. These resources cover various aspects of Down Syndrome, including medical considerations, developmental milestones, educational opportunities, and support networks.

Collaborating for Excellence
  • DSAV welcomes the opportunity to collaborate with the medical community to ensure the best care possible for patients with Down Syndrome and their families. We offer speakers for conferences, meetings, and grand rounds presentations upon request. By working together, we can enhance awareness, understanding, and support for individuals with Down Syndrome across the healthcare spectrum.
