Empowering Unity: 2025 Buddy Walk®
Join us for the 18th Annual Buddy Walk®, a cherished tradition dedicated to celebrating Down Syndrome Awareness Month and promoting acceptance and inclusion of individuals with Down Syndrome. Established in 1995 by the National Down Syndrome Society, the Buddy Walk® has evolved into the premier advocacy event for Down Syndrome in the United States and the world's most widely recognized public awareness program for the Down Syndrome community.
Uniting for Change: Buddy Walk® of the Valley
The Buddy Walk® of the Valley is not just a walk; it's a movement towards acceptance and empowerment. As DSAV's main fundraiser and the only nationally licensed walk in Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania, this symbolic event brings together more than 2,000 individuals each year to raise funds through pledges, sponsors, and entrance fees.
Mark your calendars for September ,21 2025, at Eastwood Field in Niles, and be a part of this inspiring event. Individuals with Down Syndrome enjoy free admission but must register to receive an event T-shirt and Buddy Medal. Gates open at 11:45 am, with the 1/2 awareness walk commencing at 1:00 pm.
Celebrating Together: Family-Friendly Activities
Experience a day filled with family-friendly activities, including dancing, bounce houses, and captivating performances by Disney Princesses, local cheerleaders, and dance teams. The Buddy Walk® Lane offers an exciting opportunity for team captains to register one vehicle, drive into the gated area of Eastwood Field, and set up "tailgate style" before the event begins. It's the perfect gathering point for teams to meet, celebrate, and enjoy refreshments in a festive atmosphere. We encourage teams to bring folding tables, chairs, or even a 10 x 10 tent to enhance the experience.
