Welcome to (DSAV) Down Syndrome Association of the Valley

Serving Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania

Since 2007, DSAV has been dedicated to serving individuals with Down Syndrome in Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. Our Regional Down Syndrome Center for Success, opened in June 2022 in Boardman, OH, provides a range of amenities to support our community, including therapeutic play areas, life skills classes, and communication development spaces. At DSAV, we prioritize inclusion and offer free membership to individuals with Down Syndrome, their families, educators, healthcare professionals, and advocates. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The Down Syndrome Association of the Valley (DSAV) is looking for an engaging, compassionate, and resourceful Executive Director to lead the organization into its next chapter.
This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while leading a community-focused nonprofit serving individuals with Down syndrome and their families throughout Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.
The Executive Director will:
  • Lead day-to-day operations and programs
  • Expand community outreach and partnerships
  • Drive fundraising, donor engagement, and grant opportunities
  • Increase awareness of DSAV and its mission
  • Build meaningful relationships with families, volunteers, donors, and community partners

Improvaneer Method 

When:
Where: Regional Down Syndrome Center for Success

Recommended for individuals aged 15 years and older, this program utilizes improvisation techniques to enhance crucial skills that can significantly enhance social and workplace prospects for those with Down Syndrome. Through engaging in role-playing and interactive games, participants develop essential abilities such as eye contact, voice projection, active listening, creative and quick thinking, problem-solving, adaptability to change, character development, and most importantly, self-confidence.

Music Enchrichment

Welcome to an introductory music enrichment class for children ages 0-6. This is an interactive, multi-sensory experience where we will be exploring different colors, shapes and how to express ourselves through movement and music.

The class will be led by Mackenzie Bobeczko, MT-BC who is a music facilitator/therapist.
