DSAV Academic Scholarships Available

Applications are now being accpeted for two, $1,000 academic scholarships.
Scholarships are available to students pursuing post secondary studies in fields of education that will directly benefit individuals with Down syndrome.

Thank you, Howland High School National Honor Society members
for hosting DSAV story time!
Children from ages two to six enjoyed the reading and performances of "If you Give a Mouse a Cookie" along with other great stories on March 22.
Thank you also to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church for hosting this event.
The Howland NHS also donated books to the DSAV library! |
Junior Women's League
presents check

Presenting Check to Michele Jones are Judy Buck, Chairperson of the JWL Ways and Means Committee and Marnie Murphy JWL President.
Thank you to the Canfield Junior Women’s League for hosting a wine taste fundraiser in January 2012 with proceeds to benefit DSAV. Nearly $850 was presented to the DSAV! Thank you also for inviting us to speak at the February general membership meeting. Any group that would like to schedule a presentation and learn more about the DSAV and spread awareness for Down syndrome please email us or call 330-726-3728. Open dates in 2012 are still available.

DSAV Awards Scholarships
Congratulations to Molly Martin and Lindsey Morris, the 2011 DSAV Scholarship recipients. The DSAV is thrilled to award $2,000 in academic scholarships to area students pursuing college degrees in fields that will directly benefit those with Down syndrome. Through an application process, 2 individuals received $1,000 each to be used toward their education.

The Down Syndrome Association of the Valley (DSAV), is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization serving Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.
The DSAV was established to provide support, resources, advocacy, education and opportunity for those with Down syndrome and their families.
The DSAV Center for Success® opened in Boardman on October 22, 2009. The Center serves as the DSAV office and provides space for activities, resources, educational programs, lectures, support and community awareness.
Our vision is for people with Down syndrome to be active participants in a fully inclusive society. |
Our organization is open to family members, medical professionals, educators and anyone interested in helping those in our community with Down syndrome to reach their fullest potential.
